Recently, I grabbed a cup of coffee and walked by the NYSE and took this picture. As many times as I’ve seen the Fearless Girl in the news and walked by it, this time felt different. Looking at her, I wasn’t thinking about markets, headlines, or corporate boardrooms. I was brought back to being a young girl myself. Seeing the world through the lens of a child. It made me reflect on how we teach our girls to be strong, powerful, and confident. How we help them weather storms. How we model perseverance through challenges not by pretending they don’t exist, but by showing them how to stand firm in the face of them. Women’s History Month is about celebrating the extraordinary contributions of women who changed the world. But it’s also about something quieter and just as important:
The everyday roles we each play.
The example we set.
The courage we model.
Fearless doesn’t mean unafraid.
It means standing tall anyway.
Here’s to remembering that every day we are shaping what courage looks like for someone watching.
