Career Development
There are many ways to provide career development services to organizations. Here are some of the ways we have:
- Career development consultation
- Career development ladder (set of key competencies for each level within a group or business)
- Career development training (classroom and online learning)
- Career development self-assessments
As Teresa Amabile, author of the book "The Progress Principle" states, "Of all the things that can boost emotions, motivation, and perceptions during a workday, the single most important is making progress in meaningful work."
One of the best ways to create meaningful work is to have conversations about career development (extrinsic and intrinsic motivators) and feeling equipped to have these types of conversations with your employees without feeling contractually obligated to promoting an employee.
A common misperception is that career development equates to conversations about promotions or advancements. While this may be the case for many, there are also others who simply want to enhance their current role or job - to feel progress and meaningful work.
At JM Consulting Group, we work with our clients to best understand their needs and challenges, designing solutions that best address these balances in perception.
